For Immediate Release 9/21/2010
The Carroll Motorsports Team has claimed the 2010 Sandusky Speedway Modified Division track championship!
The accomplishment was the culmination of a four year quest where the team has competed weekly in the modified division at Sandusky. The first of the four years was spent racing a partial schedule and the team claimed two victories. The following year (2008), the team managed to secure three feature wins and fell short of the championship finishing second by a mere seven points as a result of some very hard luck and some calls that didn’t go their way. In 2009 the team fell on some hard times with several accidents and just bad racing luck. Nonetheless, the team secured two feature wins and proved they were the car to beat when they could keep things together. The team finished fifth in the championship points which was quite an accomplishment given the circumstances they had to overcome. This year, the Carroll Motorsports Team fielded the fastest qualifying car on several occasions and made the fastest four car dash race every week but one. The team rallied together and put together an amazingly consistent and impressive year. Although the team didn’t find victory lane in a feature event this year, they had many second places, top fives, and preliminary event wins. The team proved that persistence and consistency wins championships. As Andy has stated many times, the team has won enough feature events over the years that not winning one this year is not the end of the world. The team would rather win the championship, than a bunch of features and no championship.
This championship title is the team’s second championship at Sandusky Speedway as they have also won a Late Model Division championship in 1999. Andy and his car owner and Father, Jeff Carroll, would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to all of the crewmembers and Sponsors that helped them win this championship! Thanks to Russ Stoutenburgh, Jeff Sanford, Brian Lorcher, Matt Parker, Eddie VanVlerah, and Donn Rhode. Thanks to HGCarroll & Associates Ltd., Hermes-Parker Concrete, Mason Jar, Son’s of American Legion Post 83, Lighthouse Lettering, Snyder Collision, Perkins Towing, Terra Community College, Precision Engines, and ACME Racing. Andy would also like to say Thanks to his wife April and their three boys, Austin, Logan, and Bentley as well as his Mom for supporting his racing career over the years. Andy & Jeff would also like to thank Becky, Jen, Jen Parker, Sandy, and Brooke for being a part of a great year. Thanks to the staff at Sandusky Speedway and all of our fellow competitors and fans!
For Immediate Release June 9, 2008:
Carroll Motorsports was back in action last Saturday evening, June 7th at Sandusky Speedway. Andy qualified fourth fastest out of the field of 13 cars. The effort was enough to get him into the Helmet Dash race reserved for the fastest four qualifiers in each division and provides the privilege of participating in the autograph session that precedes the race. Sandusky Speedway brought back the autograph session this year and it gives the fans an opportuntiy to meet the race car drivers and see the cars up close before the nights racing action begins. The team got out to a fast start for the evening by winning the helmet dash and then adding a heat race victory as well. Carroll started sixth in the feature event and got off to a rough start when the outside row of cars ahead of him began to fall backwards. Andy eventually found the bottom groove and settled into a single file running order around eighth place. By the end of the 25 lap feature event, Andy managed to secure a very hard earned second place finish. Although they didn't win the main event, they still had a great night by winning two out of three races. The team also managed to regain a slight edge in the points championship standings. When asked about the championship, Andy had this to say: "We feel good about where we're at, but realize it's going to be a long year and we have some very formidable competition in this division. The only thing we can do is go out and do the best we can possibly do every week, because we can't control what the competition does." The team is going to take advantage of a week off to catch up on some necessary maintenance items on the car. They look forward to being back at Sandusky on June 21.

For Immediate Release January 2, 2008:
Carroll Motorsports would like to thank all of our sponsors and fans for their support during a very successful 2007 rookie season in the Modified Division at Sandusky Speedway. It was a season that included the highs of winning a feature and multiple heat race events, and the lows of having an almost sure feature victory escape us during the final laps on one occasion. Through it all, Andy and the Carroll Motorsports team kept pushing forward and getting better every week. We have a lot to be thankful for and perhaps just as much to look forward to in 2008. Applying the knowledge gathered in 2007 along with hard work over the winter should lead to more success next summer as the team plans to compete for the points championship at Sandusky. In addition to racing at Sandusky, the team also has intentions of racing at various other tracks throughout the season and may also return as a competitor in the Main Event Super Late Model Series.
For Immediate Release June 25, 2007:
Andy Carroll and his Carroll Motorsports team were victorious this past Saturday evening. The team brought home victories in both their preliminary and feature event races. The feature victory marked their first Sandusky Speedway feature win since the last year they competed there regularly in 2001. The team earned their 4th top five feature finish in as many starts. Andy was ecstatic in his victory speech where he indicated his gratitude towards all who have helped him re-visit victory lane. He was quick to point out his Father's hard work and dedication as well as that of the crew. The night was made especially special by the attendance of Andy's wife April and their five year old son Austin. Austin let his expectations be know mid-week that if he was coming, he expected Daddy to win. The win was clearly one of Andy's most emotional wins of his career. What a special night it was for the Carroll Motorsports team to not only win the race, but to do so after a long dry spell. The team is not scheduled to race again until Saturday, July 7, when they will be back in action at Sandusky Speedway. You can rest assured that this win is going to further motivate the Carroll Motorsports team for the rest of the 2007 season and beyond.
For Immediate Release June 11, 2007:
Andy Carroll and his Carroll Motorsports team have earned their third top 5 feature finish in as many starts at the famed Sandusky, Ohio half mile oval of Sandusky Speedway. The June 9th event caught the attention of many as Andy got off the mark and climbed the backstretch wall during his preliminary heat race. Amazingly, the car was unscathed and Andy was able to pilot his Chevrolet to his first career heat race win in the e-mod division. After close evaluation of the front end geometry and significant chassis and suspension adjustments, the Carroll Motorsports team was set to take the grid for the main event of the evening. Andy started the event in the 11th position and was quickly able to advance his position lap after lap. With the help of a very good running race car and some misfortune on behalf of the competitors, Andy was able to secure a 4th place finish. Andy was quick to point out that this was a team effort made possible only by the hard work and dedication of the entire team. Andy would like to thank Jeff Carroll, Brian Lorcher, Matt Parker, Ed VanVlerah, and Shawn Silbaugh for their commitment to making his job easy!
